Love Solihull working with Friends of Solihull Station (FOSS) have installed some colourful new planters on the platform at Solihull Station.
The planters were made and assembled by Newlands Bishop Farm, a centre established to provide people with learning disabilities and mental health problems the opportunity to learn work based skills, including carpentry. The FOSS volunteers then painted the planters before bringing them to life adding a mixture of flowers funded by Chiltern Railways to provide all year round colour to the platform. Within minutes of them being planted the local bees and insects were queuing up to take a look!
Thank you to the FOSS for all of their hard work in looking after the station! If you would like to find out more about the Friends of Solihull Station please contact Love Solihull and we will pass your information on to Ian Henson, Chair of FOSS.
