Wychwood is a narrow, 3.5 hectare woodland and grassland that forms an important habitat belt between the residential area of Wychwood Avenue and the arable land beyond. A team of volunteers consisting of Lloyds Bank employees from various corners of the United Kingdom joined us to carry out some meadow management at the site.
Grass was scythed and raked in order to increase biodiversity in the meadow including encouraging more wildflowers to flourish and to improve access and amenity for visitors.
Two of the scythes used on the project were paid for by the Lloyds Bank volunteers. Following the project these have now been donated to Solihull Conservation Volunteers and will be used for future Love Solihull projects.
